Power Converter (W, kW, hp, PS, BTU/h)

Convert power between watts, kilowatts, horsepower, and BTU/hour — useful for comparing engine, appliance, and HVAC specs across regions. Runs entirely in your browser.

How it works

Every unit is converted through a common base unit — the watt. Mechanical horsepower (used in the US/UK, 745.7 W) and metric horsepower — "PS", Pferdestärke — (used across continental Europe and Japan, 735.5 W) are close but not identical, so a car advertised at "150 PS" is not quite 150 hp.
